Publications
This is a complete resource list of GIFT's extension materials suitable for use with exceptionally able pupils. It contains all those projects which can be simply picked up and used (with and without teacher's notes).
Each project is numbered and prefaced with S, P or E. These indicate that the author originally intended the project to be used at Secondary or Primary levels or for Educational pedagogic purposes respectively.
We are also introducing a number of resource booklets (B) to supplement areas of study within the National Curriculum. These can be used as primary source material by students or as an information resource by teachers. The description column also shows whether teacher's notes (TN) are available and whether the project is of lesson length.
All the projects have been trialled, evaluated and re-assessed two or three times either at a Residential Course for Gifted Children, or at day-courses run for children and teachers together, or at a school which has a permanent school-based curriculum extension programme. The projects have also been used in mixed ability situations to ensure their value as extension projects for children of all abilities.
The projects can be used either as single-day activities or can be broken down into lesson-length units. See the
publications list for details.
