Welcome To GIFT
GIFT is a company that grew out of a history of over 30 years of continuous provision for the Exceptionally Able, Gifted and Talented child. It is now a specialist consultancy which runs both residential and non-residential courses for gifted children of all ages with a unique resource base of specialists providing over four hundred different extension courses for every imaginable discipline from Archaeology to Zoophysics.
GIFT runs age-specific residential and non-residential courses for school students. There's no stress, no exams, no marking, no hothousing, no 'school' discipline, and no bullying. We work in small groups with a graduate/post-graduate expert lecturer in the field (police-checked, of course). There is plenty of discussion, individual attention, opportunity to go aff at tangents, depth and breadth of learning at the highest level, truth, and networking with like-minded kindred spirits. Pleasure and enjoyment come out of this mixture and out of that come relaxation and equanimity.
Don't take our word for it. Click HERE to read comments from past and present GIFTers. Come and see for yourself!
As an international organisation working in a local context we are able to offer relevant advice based on best professional practice whilst bringing a wealth of contemporary expertise to meet your needs.
We maintain a school base, operating from an insider’s understanding of the demands on schools and LEAs. Our work and advice is pragmatic, realistic and always points to the achievement of higher standards. We produce an ever increasing portfolio of resources which are tried and tested with Exceptionally Able, Gifted and Talented children. We offer practical assistance, advice and training that recognises the need to work in an inclusive and demanding teaching and learning environment.
We can help you help the exceptionally able, gifted and talented child. We aim to offer a value-for-money, education consultancy of quality, which meets the needs of the exceptionally able, gifted and talented and those working to support them in the excitement and challenge of achieving their full potential as human beings.
Our residential courses take place in LEA study centres at atmospheric locations in pleasant surroundings, meeting all relevant government standards of health, hygiene, safety and security. Staff ratios vary but are never more than 1:10 (residential) and 1:12 (non-residential). They are often less. We don't hothouse. We try to allow children the freedom to experience the sheer joy of learning (if that doesn't sound too trite) and to closet them with an expert and like-minded peers. The result is the formation of a social network of kindred spirits, the existence of which often transcends the duration of the course. There is no membership or membership fees, no introductory test (children attend because they want to) and no IQ requirement (if children want to come because they are fascinated by our project descriptions, thats good enough for us; wanting to attend a day-project on Shakespearean Sonnets SAYS something about a child, doesn't it?).
Education is a matter of light, liberty and learning.
And that's what we aim to provide.
